the innocence project

The Innocence Project's mission is to free the staggering number of innocent people who remain incarcerated, and to bring reform to the system responsible for their unjust imprisonment. They work to exonerate the wrongly convicted through DNA testing (they have exonerated over 350 innocent people thus far) , and reform the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice. Katy's dad served on the board of the Pennsylvania chapter for many years, and her dear friend works for them in NYC. This is an organization close to Katy's heart.

We have this amazing organization to thank for rescuing and sheltering our sweet Lomez, so that Josh could eventually adopt him. Founded in 1944, North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest, most comprehensive no-kill rescue and adoption organization, with 2,000 shelter partners across the country and around the globe. As the leader in the no-kill movement, they are committed to saving and rehabilitating the lives of homeless animals and educating the public about the joys and responsibilities of rescue.
